REGINA (CP) -- Government officials have removed five children from the home of missing child Tamra Keepness, CTV Newsnet reported Wednesday.
Regina police made the announcement that Family Services had removed the children, said Newsnet.
There is no word on why they were taken out.
Keepness has not been seen since she went to bed in the home on the night of July 6.
An intensive search has not yielded any clues.
Police have said they still have questions about the comings and goings in the home that night. On Monday, Tamra's stepfather was charged with assault causing bodily harm after an alleged altercation at the family home the night she disappeared.
Dean McArthur, 29, is to appear in court Thursday for a bail hearing.
The alleged assault happened at about 3 a.m. July 6. That was four hours after Tamra's family said they last saw the little girl.
Police and volunteer search-and-rescue teams put in 5,600 man-hours looking for Tamra before the focus shifted to a criminal investigation last week.
The search was then picked up by aboriginal groups who came to
Regina from across the province.
In another development this week, police said they were looking for two vehicles reported stolen the day Tamra was reported missing.
Tamra was living with her mother and five siblings, including her twin sister when she disappeared.
She is thin, three-foot-five, and weighs 40 pounds with bobbed brown hair and brown eyes. When last seen, she was wearing a light-blue striped halter top with pink accents, light blue jeans, and pink and white shoes.
