KIPLING, Sask. (CP) - A small Saskatchewan farming town is rolling out the red carpet for a weekend-long house-warming party.
It all started when Kyle MacDonald, a web-savvy Montrealer, managed to turn one red paper-clip into a house in Kipling, Sask., by making trades over the Internet.
Now the town is gearing up for a big celebration - almost all the businesses on Main Street have their windows painted with messages of welcome and pictures of paper-clips.
At the house MacDonald traded for, windows are being cleaned and yard work is being done to make sure it looks its best.
Mayor Patricia Jackson says all the attention Kipling has been getting is exactly what the town had in mind when it decided to offer the house to MacDonald earlier this summer.
Kipling is about a two-hour drive southeast of Regina.
