Missing woman looked nervous at ATM
By DON PEAT, SUN MEDIA

TORONTO -- It's a baffling disappearance half a world away but the family of a missing Toronto paralegal isn't giving up.

Ani Ashekian's sister, Sossy, made a public plea in Hong Kong yesterday for anyone to help solve the case.

Ashekian, 30, has been missing since early November.

"We are deeply grateful to everyone in Hong Kong who is helping us so much," Sossy Ashekian said in a press release late last night. "I hope we'll have more information after we've spoken with the authorities here.

"Everyone at home is so worried about her and we need to know that she is okay."

Her journey to Hong Kong to help generate new leads on her sister's case follows a similar trip made by Ani's boyfriend, Wenddell Walsh.

Hong Kong police showed Walsh video of the 30-year-old looking nervous as she removed money from an ATM machine at the Causeway Bay MTR Station.

Thoughts and prayers continue to pour in from members of an on-line group, which last night had grown to almost 10,000 members.

A website, findani.com, continues to post updates and provide photos of Ashekian to help identify her.
