MONTREAL, Que. -- A 14-year-old female passenger was killed early yesterday after being ejected from the trunk of a car during a collision in this city, 45 km southeast of Montreal.
Twelve people were involved in the accident. Six were injured, including one who is clinging to life.
The collision happened around 2:50 a.m. as a group of young people was returning from a party in a downtown Saint-Jean club reserved for 14- to 18-year-olds.
"Seven teenagers were in the small Kia, including two in the trunk," said Saint-Jean police spokesman Martin Anctil.
Speeding, the 17-year-old driver of the Kia hit a car he was trying to pass. There were five young people inside that car.

"The driver of the Kia lost control and the car left the road. It finally landed in shrubs a few feet from the river," Anctil said.
The drivers in this two-car collision were both 17 year olds. They will likely face charges of dangerous driving causing dealth and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
