By Jean-Philippe Arcand, QMI Agency

SAINT HONORE, QUE. - Three people are dead following a plane crash in Saguenay, Que. on Wednesday night after an aircraft went down in a wooded area in Saint-Honore, north of Chicoutimi.

A distress signal was received at the military base in Trenton, Ont., at about 10:45 Wednesday night.

Search and rescue operations got underway immediately, with the Canadian Forces and Quebec provincial police taking part in the mission.

A fourth victim, a woman, survived the crash, though her condition remains unknown.

The plane and its occupants were discovered at about 4:45 a.m. this morning. All three people killed, including two pilots, were men in their 20s.

The plane, a Kingair, took off from Val-d'Or in Abitibi en route to the Saint-Honore airport.

The Surete du Quebec has launched an investigation into the crash while the Transportation Safety Board of Canada will also try to determine what led to the crash.
