SARNIA, Ont. — An unidentified man found on the bank at Sarnia Bay Marina on Thursday was later pronounced dead, Sarnia police say Emergency services responded to a report of a body in the water at 1:43 p.m. and officers located it on the north shore, between the boat launch and Sarnia Bay Marina restaurant.
The man was removed from water by Sarnia firefighters but attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.
He was pronounced dead at 3:30 p.m.
An autopsy is scheduled for today at Blue Water Health.
Police investigators are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the man.
He is described as being about 35-years-old, with light brown hair, a goatee, 5 foot 10 and 180 pounds.
He was wearing a blue Nike T-shirt, blue jeans, grey hiking shoes with black soles, and a black cotton coat with a hood.
The coat had Australian Outback buttons on it and he was also wearing black gloves.
On his left index finger was a gold ring with an unknown stone, possibly a pearl, and he was wearing gold and silver bracelets.
Sarnia police would like to speak to anyone with information that may lead to the identity of this individual.
