Sausage possibly contaminated with Listeria, sold in Ont.

OTTAWA — The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Superior Sausage and Meat Products Ltd. are warning the public not to consume certain ham sausages sold in Ontario.

The affected products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria that may cause listeriosis.

Village Superior Sausage was sold between Dec. 1 and Dec. 5 at Superior Sausage and Meat Products Ltd. in Toronto.

And Ham Sausage (Kielbassa Szynkowa) was sold between Dec. 1 and Dec. 8 at Euromax Foods Inc. in Milton, Ont.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.

The manufacturer, Superior Sausage and Meat Products Ltd. of Toronto, is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace.
