Body pulled from burning car in Hortons lot
Man dead in truck had 'heart issues': police
By QMI AGENCY

Barrie police say there is no foul play involved in the discovery of a body in a burning pickup truck this morning.

Police were called to a vehicle fire the Tim Hortons parking lot on Fairview Road at about 2 a.m.

Inside the burning plow truck they found the body of a 51-year-old man.

"We suspect this is a medical issue," said Barrie Police Sgt. Robert Allan. "It's not an arson, we do not suspect any foul play."

They believe the man had some sort of "medical episode" inside his truck after starting it. Police said he had a medical history of heart issues and that a post-mortem will be conducted later today in Toronto.

That episode somehow caused his foot to put pressure on the vehicle's accelerator.

The heat of the revving the vehicle likely caused the fire.
