Snowpocalypse bears down on Atlantic region
By QMI AGENCY

A winter storm has brought blizzard conditions to eastern Newfoundland, prompting flight cancellations and near-zero visibility driving conditions in some areas.

Environment Canada issued a blizzard warning update Friday morning for the St. John's area.

Most flights at St. John's International Airport scheduled for Friday have been cancelled, including both arrivals and departures.

Environment Canada says snow and blowing snow will continue throughout the day and head eastward.

Up to 45 cm of snow is forecast to fall in some eastern areas, and winds could gust up to 90 km/h.
