Police worried about missing teen
By TAMARA CHERRY, QMI Agency

Courtney Desbiens, 16, is missing.

TORONTO — The disappearance of a teenage girl last week has police concerned she may be in the company of someone trying to exploit her.

Courtney Desbiens, 16, was last seen leaving her home near Lawrence Ave. E. and Megan Ave., east of Morningside Ave., for school at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Toronto Police Const. Wendy Drummond said Tuesday.

Given that the teen, who never before has never been reported missing, doesn't have money for shelter and clothes, police are concerned someone may take advantage of her vulnerability, Drummond said.

She was described as white, 105 pounds, 5-foot-4, with a thin build, blue eyes and shoulder-length red hair. She was last seen wearing a blue cloth jacket, blue denim pants and white leather shoes, police said.

Anyone with information was asked to contact police at 416-808-4300 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-8477, 222tips.com, or by texting TOR and your tip to CRIMES.
