TORONTO - Transit riders may never know what discipline - if any - is slapped on a TTC bus driver given a breathalyzer test and a 72-hour licence suspension while on duty with passengers on board her bus.

As QMI Agency first reported, Toronto police pulled over the woman, with 21 years on the job, after a 911 call came in about the bus being driven erratically along Dawes Rd. Friday afternoon.

The breathalyzer test showed she was in the warning range for alcohol consumption.

Media reports quoting TTC chairman Adam Giambrone speaking to reporters at City Hall on Tuesday said the commission will issue its decision on the driver's fate Wednesday.

But TTC spokesman Danny Nicholson said Wednesday that the internal investigation is still ongoing and any decision to discipline the driver, including termination, would be a personnel matter and kept confidential.

"That's not something we typically comment on," he said.

The driver is currently suspended without pay.
