Woman side-swipes police cruiser, runs away
By QMI Agency

A female driver is in hospital after colliding with an RCMP cruiser, before hitting a second vehicle moments later, around 6 p.m. Saturday in Timberlea, Alta.

Police say that the woman, who is in her 30s, allegedly side-swiped the driver's side rear door of the cruiser after she crossed the centre line of the road.

She was driving a blue 2008 Toyota Tundra.

The police officer, who was on duty driving a fully-marked patrol car, did not suffer serious injuries.

The driver fled the scene and, moments later, hit another parked vehicle before coming to a complete stop.

Residents in the area notified police and helped the injured driver, who had to be pulled out from her car with the help of EMS.

She was transported to hospital, but police did not say what her injuries were.

No charges have been laid, but alcohol is being investigated as a factor in both collisions, police said.
