Rabbit struck with arrow in Calgary
By Katie Schneider, QMI Agency

CALGARY - They call them lucky rabbit’s feet for a reason.

And for a bunny spotted by a Sun photographer with an arrow through its back in the green space south of McMahon Stadium on Saturday — the same site another pierced rabbit was found last week — it seems its four feet have brought it good luck, and survival.

The rabbit resembles one seen Aug. 23 by a woman on her way to work hopping through the parking lot of the stadium with a similar looking arrow sticking through its back.

It’s the third incidence of a bunny being discovered speared with an arrow in Calgary this year.

In May, a brown hare was seen in Coach Hill with a long, yellow-feathered arrow pierced completely through its hindquarters.

It was later found dead in the same area.

And last month, a four-year-old Great Pyrenees in Okotoks was nearly killed when it was hit with an arrow that went through his lung, diaphragm, liver and stomach.

RCMP are still investigating that case.
