Bones found on Montreal worksite
By QMI Agency

MONTREAL –- Construction workers made a gruesome find on their Montreal worksite Thursday morning.

They uncovered what appeared to be human remains during an excavation at 8:30 a.m. on Nun’s Island, a suburban community southeast of the city.

Montreal police spokesman Olivier Lapointe said the bones found by the workers were so damaged it was nearly impossible to tell anything more about them.

“At first sight they could be human but we have to wait to be sure,” said Lapointe.

The bones have been sent to Montreal’s forensic laboratory for analysis. The results should be known in the coming days.

The bones were located in an isolated spot near a bridge that links the small island community to Montreal. A gravel road bordered by trees leads to the site.
