MONTREAL - Charges have been dropped against 30 Quebecers arrested during the G20 summit in Toronto this summer.

Due to a lack of evidence, charges were dropped against all those arrested in the University of Toronto gymnasium, said Marc Laramee, spokesman for the group Regroupement des arrete, which was designed to help those arrested during the summit.

"They were too many, the burden of proof was too heavy," Laramee told QMI Agency.

Over 1,000 people were arrested this summer during the G20 summit in Toronto.

Regroupement des arrete will hold press conferences Thursday in Montreal and Toronto to address the news.
