VANCOUVER - The missing British newlyweds in northern B.C., have been found, RCMP said Tuesday.

Ben and Caroline Davies, last heard from June 22, were blissfully unaware the entire province had been searching for them.

RCMP said an alert RCMP officer spotted their vehicle in Lillooet, B.C., about – about 255 km northeast of Vancouver,– and pulled them over.

“They were traveling on the back roads, off the beaten path, and totally unaware they’d been reported missing,” Sgt. Rob Vermeulen said.

The couple arrived in B.C., early last month to visit with family and explore the province. They borrowed a family member’s 2008 black Mazda pickup truck and headed north toward Alaska to go backcountry camping.

Scheduled to return to Vancouver on July 4, they were reported missing on Sunday.

“They were apparently having a great vacation,” Vermeulen said.

The couple had not missed any flights, he said. Police had been unable to track banking or credit card use because they are from the U.K.
