GODMANCHESTER, Que. - Quebec provincial police have found the car belonging to a 21-year-old woman who was found dead on a hiking trail here Friday.

Police spokeswoman Christine Coulombe said officers found the Toyota Tercel early Monday morning in the parking lot of Saint-Louis de Gonzague, a church in a community about 70 km southwest of Montreal.

Police established a perimeter around Karine Faubert's car while investigators looked for clues.

Faubert, of Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague, was found dead on a hiking trail in Godmanchester at about 11:15 a.m. Friday.

She was shot to death, police said.

Police spent two days combing the area with dogs and a helicopter searching for the car and other clues.

So far, no suspect has been identified in the case. The man who found the body is considered an important witness.
