Helene Campbell back in hospital

OTTAWA - Organ donor advocate and recent double-lung transplant recipient Helene Campbell is back in hospital this week.
The Barrhaven woman had been discharged from a Toronto hospital May 4, but began to experience shortness of breath. She went to an emergency room and was readmitted Sunday, according to a blog update penned by her mother, Manon.
Campbell is well-known for using social media to preach the importance of organ donation, her message magnified by supportive tweets from pop star Justin Bieber and hockey commentator Don Cherry. She also made a Skype appearance on Ellen Degeneres' daytime television show and has been invited to appear in person when she is well enough.
Last week had been good for Campbell. Ottawa family visiting Toronto -- where she has been staying since before her early April transplant operation -- had been stunned to find her out of hospital.
She was holding a birthday cake covered in candles, which she had previously had to avoid because of her ever-present oxygen tanks. She also had enough breath to sing "Happy Birthday."
She now awaits the results of more tests. Rejection and infection remain concerns so early in her recovery, Campbell's mother wrote.
Doctors are deciding what treatments to pursue, but she is expected to be discharged "sooner, rather than later."
Campbell, as always, remains strong and positive, her mother wrote.
