Kids in burned out garage won't be buried with father

WARWICK, Que. -- The mother of two children likely killed by their father has learned his family won't fight to have them buried next to him.

The family of Jocelyn Marcoux, who police said they believe killed his two children before killing himself and setting part of the family's home on fire Tuesday morning, will not fight for the bodies of the children, QMI Agency has learned.

Marcoux's family had initially signalled they wanted the children to be buried next to their father.

The children's mother, Nadine Brillant, found out about the family's decision Thursday afternoon, a source said.

Brillant had told QMI Agency her two children "will never be buried next to him."

Police have suggested the tragic death of a father and two children was likely a murder-suicide brought on by a custody battle.

The charred bodies of Marcoux, Karen 11, and Lindsey, 13, were among the burnt rubble in back of a home in Warwick, Que., about 150 km northeast of Montreal.

Police said they were waiting for autopsy results before concluding how the three died. QMI Agency learned police received preliminary results Thursday but won't release them before next week.
