SAINT-PHILIBERT, Que. -- A man says he's lucky to be alive after a BMW crashed through his front door and drove through his house Wednesday evening.

Roger Letourneau said he was sitting in his living room and narrowly missed being hit.

"I saw (the car) coming pretty fast at my house," he said.

Letourneau said his home, about 100 km south of Quebec City, is a total loss.

The driver, Pierre-Luc Levesque, 34, was arrested for drunk driving. He will remain in jail until his second court appearance on July 16.

Police said they don't know the cause of the crash. However, there were about 30 metres of skid marks outside Letourneau's home.

Letourneau said he will be living with his mom for the time being.
