Chainsaw leaves gash in man's head
By Danielle Bell, QMI Agency

OTTAWA - A 33-year-old man is in stable condition after his chainsaw sliced through his hard hat in a work accident.

Shortly before 10 a.m., paramedics were called to a home east of downtown to treat a man with a severe laceration to his head.

According to emergency officials, the tree-trimming employee had been cutting part of a wooden fence when his chainsaw kicked back.

He wore a hard hat but the chainsaw cut through it.

His co-workers helped him until crews arrived.
