Ont. brothers, mother found following Amber Alert
By Chris Doucette, QMI Agency

An Amber Alert has been called off for Randa, Lewis, and Benny.

TORONTO - Two brothers allegedly snatched from their Brampton, Ont., foster home by their mother were located in New York State late Friday.

The children, Lewis and Benny Gallago-Hammadieh, were found along with their mother Randa Hammadieh, 33. They were not found in the vehicle they were initially travelling in. That vehicle is still outstanding.

Two men who were with the mother are also outstanding.

“The mother’s in custody with New York State police,” Peel Police Const. Erin Cooper said Friday evening outside headquarters. “And the two males are still outstanding, whether they’re suspects or not is still part of the investigation.”

Cooper said police don’t know how the men are connected to the mother or the boys.

The boys, aged 8 and 9, were allegedly taken by their mother Friday morning in a vehicle described as a silver Dodge Caravan.

“We’re still looking for the vehicle as well,” Cooper said.

Police subsequently issued an Amber Alert, urging the public to look out for them.

They were concerned the adults would try and leave the province with them. At around 7 p.m., the Amber Alert was called off.

She added it’s unclear how the children will be brought home. They are currently in the custody of New York State police.

According to police, the children had been in a foster home for the past year.
