By QMI Agency

Local police and RCMP say they're investigating a melee at a Halifax hockey arena Saturday night in which three security guards were assaulted and one of four fleeing suspects was shot with a stun gun.

Cops were called to a disturbance at Centennial Arena around 8:30 p.m., where some people were refused entry into a high school hockey game. Police say one security guard was hit in the face and another was struck by flying glass from a rock thrown through a window, while a third was stabbed and suffered a wound police described as "minor."

Police chased and nabbed four suspects a short time later.

"During the course of one of the arrests a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) was deployed to subdue the subject," police said in a news release.

All four suspects have been released "pending further investigation."
