U.S. peanut recall expands into Canada

A recall of peanut butter products in the U.S. has been expanded to include Canada.
On Friday, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) warned the public not to eat raw in-shell peanuts, PureFit Peanut Butter Crunch bars and PureFit Peanut Butter Crunch Box made by Sunland Inc. due to possible Salmonella contamination.
The products have a best before date of March 1, 2013
The original recall initiated by Sunland on September 24 included peanut butter and other nut butter products. At that time, 29 people had reported Salmonella-related illnesses in approximately 18 states.
