A British Columbia marijuana advocate is $25 million richer after winning the LOTTO MAX jackpot on the Nov. 2 draw.

Bob Erb, of Terrace, B.C., checked his ticket on Nov. 9, the BCLC announced Saturday.

"I turned around and around and said to myself 'It can't be $25,000, there are too many zeros'," he said in a release. "I put it in again to see if something will go wrong and, holy, it said $25 million!"

Erb, 60, is a seasonal construction worker and a longtime marijuana advocate. He ran for the Marijuana Party in Terrace in 2001, the Terrace Standard newspaper reports.

Erb plans to continue to work part-time but donate his wages to local charities.

"I won't be buying a home gym so I'll work for the exercise," he said.

He plans to help friends and family with his winnings and give money to soup kitchens, food banks and shelters in Terrace.

Erb, whose ticket won the Nov. 2 draw, shared the $50 million LOTTO MAX prize with another winner in Alberta.
