VANCOUVER - Police have located a missing 18-year-old man who they say made a panicked call Monday night urging a friend to contact police and his family, then vanished.

Abbotsford, B.C., police are investigating exactly what happened to Sayed Mohsin Shah.

“Certainly something happened to explain why this young man went off the grid for 12 hours,” police spokesman Const. Ian MacDonald said.

Police received a 911 call from a man identifying himself as Shah at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

MacDonald said police, who found the teen near the Trans-Canada Highway in Abbotsford, were unsatisfied after questioning him.

“We’re going to have to go through interviewing him again to see if we can get a better handle on what actually transpired,” he said.

“We know there’s a story, it’s just we don’t know that we’re necessarily closer to it yet.”
