The former fire chief of a southwest Quebec city still seemed shaken Saturday after being interrogated by the FBI in connection with a mysterious case of child abduction that ultimately proved to be a hoax.

Pierre Morand retired a week ago from the Lachute fire department and was headed with his wife to Pembroke Park, Florida, where the couple has a mobile home.
