TORONTO- Toronto will have a rail link between Union Station and Pearson International Airport by 2015.

Kathy Haley, Metrolinx president of Air Rail Link, told members of the Metrolinx board that the construction of the Union-Pearson Express is ahead of schedule. Haley attributed good weather in the summer to helping speed up work on the line.

CEO Bruce McCuaig added the Union-Pearson Express, dubbed UP by the group, will be operational in three years.

The ride from the airport to Union Station is expected to take 25 minutes, with trains leaving every 15 minutes. Fare rates have not been set.
