Mom of tot insulted by Santa declines Leafs' offer
By Shawn Jeffords, QMI Agency

Coach Randy Carlyle is giving the Leafs' ACC dressing room a makeover.

TORONTO - The mother of a three-year-old Toronto Maple Leafs fan who was insulted by a wise-cracking Santa Claus has turned down an offer to visit the Air Canada Centre.

Leafs officials reached out on Friday to Mary Trent, the mother of the boy who was told by a Santa Claus at the Lowe’s Christmas Market that he shouldn’t be wearing his Leafs tuque because the team “sucks”.

After arriving half an hour late for his appearance, Santa also teased the boy, who was first in line to see him, for wearing a red plaid coat, saying he looked like “Paul Bunyan”.
