Hundreds of people attended funeral services Saturday afternoon for three children found dead last week in their home.

Sonia Blanchette, 33, the mother of the siblings, has been charged with three counts of first degree murder.

The children's grandmother found their bodies during a visit to the home in the town of Drummondville, Que., an hour east of Montreal.

The funeral for Laurelie, 5, Loic, 4, and Anais, 2, took place in the town of Acton Vale, about 30 km south of Drummondville.

"We are devastated," said Jean-Pierre, a neighbour of the victims' father. "It hurts my heart. They were angels, those kids."

Police said that Blanchette was alone with her children at the time of their deaths, despite the fact that all of her visits with her children were supposed to be supervised. She had lost custody of the children to her ex-husband last year.
