ST. CATHARINES – When Isabel Garces gave birth during a brutal snowstorm in 2000, she might have thought her baby boy wasn't particularly lucky.

Twelve years later, it's quite the opposite.

Matthew Nichols will turn 12 on Wednesday -- the 12th day of the 12th month of the 12th year. He was born at 10:12 p.m. on Dec. 12, 2000.
