Police identify woman known only as 'Linda'
By Chris Doucette, QMI Agency

Linda Hegg has been identified as the mystery woman who went to a downtown shelter in September and was unable to tell people who she was.

TORONTO – A mystery woman, known only as "Linda" since she wandered into a downtown shelter several months ago, has finally been identified.

And Toronto Police say Linda Hegg is now back home in Newark, Delaware, just in time for Christmas.

"Her family is very excited to have her back," Det. Roger Caracciolo, of 54 Division, said Tuesday. "She's very excited to be home."

He said the 56-year-old woman, who is a "well-travelled" and highly educated military veteran, hopped on a bus in the U.S. on Sept. 5 and crossed the border into Canada.
