MONTREAL — Montreal-area parents have filed a complaint against a doctor who they say cut their newborn baby's head with a scalpel during an emergency caesarean section in October.

Jacynthe Bourgouin told QMI Agency the Valleyfield hospital has yet to complete an incident report on the delivery.

Bourgouin also said she recently discovered from her gynecologist that she lost a lot of blood during the emergency surgery.

"It's an unforgiveable error," she said of her baby Jeremy's wounds. "I can't even think about the scalpel touching his eye."

There are scars on the left side of the Jeremy's head.

Bourgouin said she and her partner filed a complaint with the college of physicians against the doctor who performed the surgery as well as the hospital.

Calls to the hospital and the doctor were not returned.

Valleyfield is located just west of Montreal.
