20-year-old fisherman presumed drowned
By QMI Agency

A Nova Scotia fisherman is presumed drowned after rescue crews failed to find the man after he went overboard.

Around 5:47 p.m. on Saturday, Canadian Coast Guard Joint Rescue Centre received reports of a fisherman who went overboard his boat, Row Row, an RCMP press release stated.

The man reportedly went overboard approximately 53 kilometres southwest of Yarmouth, N.S., in the Atlantic Ocean.

The coast guard conducted searches on the water and with helicopters throughout the night, the RCMP stated, and had the assistance of between 20 and 30 local fishermen but the man couldn't be found.

Michael Jeffrey Doucette, 20, from Wedgeport is presumed drowned.
