HALIFAX - A Saint John, N.B., man is hopping mad after his grandson was left to fend for himself overnight in Canada's largest airport.

The boy, 13, was on a Saint John-bound flight from Toronto when his plane was turned back to Toronto's Pearson International Airport because of bad weather.

“He told me he was scared to be left by himself. That airport is huge. He should not of just been left alone to sleep in a chair by the gate,” Steve Cunningham said.

His parents didn't buy the $100 “Unaccompanied Minor” service the company offers to its customers, so the teen was given a $10 food ticket and left by himself from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. when his new flight took off.
