Heath care system getting better but still needs work: poll

Canada's health care system performs better than it did six years ago, according to primary care physicians across the country.

But a new poll by the Health Council of Canada indicates doctors still see a lot of room for improvement, especially when it comes to getting quick access to an appointment with a doctor and for diagnostic tests like CT scans, mammograms and MRIs.

"We've been at this - primary health care reform and investment - for quite a number of years and it's a very slow moving beast, to say the least," said John Abbott, the Council's CEO. "So there's obviously a lot of areas we need to improve."
