OTTAWA - Police have recovered a car and two bodies from the icy waters of the Ottawa River four days after a woman and her son went missing near the village of Fitzroy Harbour.

Police said early Tuesday morning they were finally able to get the Dodge Dart pulled from the river at 11:40 p.m. Monday night. A short time later, they recovered two bodies from the vehicle.

The deceased have not been positively identified, but they are believed to be Donna and Daron Graves.

The Graves left an Arnprior sports bar on Thursday but never made it home. The vehicle was found over the weekend at the site where the ferry docks, submerged in about eight to nine metres of water.

That set in motion efforts to recover the vehicle and the victims -- a task which was severely hampered by ice conditions on the river combined with current, blowing snow, strong winds and frigid cold air temperatures.
