TORONTO — A police officer helped a woman give birth to a baby girl at the side of the road in Brampton, Ont., early Thursday, while the temperature, with the wind chill, was -18 C.
"Previous plans to give birth in Brampton were interrupted by their latest child who had other ideas," police said in a release.
The couple called 911 and Sgt. Ryan Snow responded to the scene on the shoulder of Hwy. 401, just east of Hwy. 25.
The baby girl was born just after 3:30 a.m. and was bundled up and taken to Milton District Hospital for precautionary reasons, police said. The mother, father and baby are all doing well.
This is the second child for the proud couple who live west of Toronto in Milton.
