Canadians still missing after Antarctica plane crash

CALGARY — Bad weather Thursday continued to stymie Calgary-based airmen trying to lay the groundwork to locate three Canadians whose plane went down in Antarctica.

Those flying two Kenn Borek Air planes attempted to get a better fix on where one of their company's Twin Otter aircraft plunged into mountains on the desolate continent, said Kevin Banaghan of the Rescue Co-ordination Centre New Zealand.

"They've effectively launched a search-and-rescue mission themselves. They've flown over the exact position but it's the clouds that have prevented them from getting into position," said Banaghan .
