A winter storm that blasted Atlantic Canada on Monday continues to wreak havoc on Newfoundland and Labrador.
Strong winds forced schools to close and ferries to shut down for a second day in a row Tuesday. Power outages hit communities in the west and Northern Peninsula.
On Monday, gusts of 140 km/h hit some parts of the province. A tractor-trailer blew over on the Burin Peninsula and winds ripped the roof from Discovery Collegiate in Bonavista.
Environment Canada issued blizzard warnings for much of Labrador, as well as winter storm and snow squall warnings across the island.
Strong winds paired with a high tide may cause coastline flooding in the southwest, officials warn.
The weather doesn't look like it's going to improve any time soon.
"This is another major winter storm that could bring up to 25 cm of snow to the province Wednesday," meteorologist Brian Dillon said in a statement from The Weather Network.
