Nothing fishy about chopper: Military investigation
By KRIS SIMS, Atlantic Bureau

A Bell CH-146 Griffon search and rescue helicopter from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Trenton lands at a private airfield on Birch Point Rd. south of Kawartha Lakes Rd. 36 east of Dunsford on the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012. (JASON BAIN/QMI Agency)

HALIFAX - National Defence and Canadian Forces says a search and rescue helicopter was not used for a fishing trip in Newfoundland last year.

A photo posted on Facebook last year showed the CH-146 Griffon next to No Name Lake. Some commented that it appeared Armed Forces personnel seen in the photo milling nearby were fishing.

After an investigation, the military says that wasn't the case.
