MONTREAL — An elderly Canadian accused of molesting young boys in the Dominican Republic was arrested and brought back to Canada to face justice.

Quebec provincial police officers travelled to the tropical island to take Joseph-Charles-Philippe Cote, 82, into custody on Thursday.

He was to be arraigned at the Montreal courthouse Friday on charges of inciting sexual contact and luring of minors. He's also charged with importing, possessing and producing child pornography.

"Provincial police obtained a search warrant that allowed them to retrieve and analyze computer systems," provincial police said in a statement.

"Police found hundreds of photographs of children in poses corresponding to child pornography."

Canada Border Services, the RCMP and Interpol also took part in the investigation into the alleged sex trips.

Canadian border officials in the Dominican spotted Cote, who had been the target of a Canadawide arrest warrant.
