The Quebec Court of Appeal will hear the Crown's challenge of Guy Turcotte's verdict that he was not criminally responsible for killing his two children in 2009.

The appeal is set for Sept. 30 and Oct. 1., but the decision will be withheld to a later date.

The Crown announced in July 2011 it wanted a new trial into the case of the former Quebec doctor, who stabbed his two children, 3 and 5, to death in February 2009.
