If he’s looking for a job, former interim Liberal leader Bob Rae could have a fighting chance against Mayor Rob Ford in the next mayoral election, according to a new poll.

The Forum Research poll found Rae — the one-time NDP premier of Ontario and a current Toronto Liberal MP — would beat Ford in a head-to-head race.

Ford would also lose to NDP MP Olivia Chow in a one-on-one mayoral election and Chow would beat both Ford and Rae in a hypothetical three-way match-up.

“A Bob Rae mayoral run may not be likely but it would certainly be interesting, especially if Olivia Chow ran at the same time,” Forum president Lorne Bozinoff said in a statement Friday.

The poll conducted Thursday found in head-to-head races, Rae would beat Ford 55% to 36% while Chow would knock out the incumbent mayor 54% to 39%.

Chow has long been discussed as a possible mayoral contender in the 2014 election but she has only said she is considering a bid.
