CALGARY — It's a pleasant break to have an image of compassion go viral amid desperate times, said Calgary Sun photographer Lyle Aspinall.

One of Aspinall's photos Thursday depicting a firefighter delivering an elderly woman to safety in his arms has gone viral in cyberspace.

The picture of the visibly grateful woman was shot on Hwy. 23, on the southern edge of High River, which was heavily swamped by the overflowing Highwood River.

"It's of one of the ladies who rescued by boat ... a couple of frames show her hamming it up," said Aspinall.

"It's a cute moment in the middle of all the tragedy."
