CALGARY - A man was hit by a train Saturday and left laying injured for hours before being rescued by rail crews.
Mounties investigating the incident suspect the young Calgarian was drunk when he was struck on the tracks near Trochu, about 140 km northwest of Calgary, sometime during Saturday’s early morning hours.
CN crews found the injured 20-year-old.
RCMP say the man had been laying there anywhere between six and 11 hours.
He was taken to a local hospital and later flown to Calgary where he was listed in stable condition.
