TORONTO -- A female hiker plunged to her death Sunday at the Mount Nemo Conservation Area in Burlington, Ont.
Halton Regional Police received a 911 call around 1 p.m. and emergency personnel found the woman, 42, at the bottom of the escarpment at Mount Nemo Conservation Area in very rugged terrain.
The hiker, who police said lost her balance near a lookout on top of the escarpment, was was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are not treating the death as suspicious. The woman's name was being withheld, pending notification of next-of-kin.
The Burlington Fire Department assisted with the recovery of the body from the base of the cliff.
