TORONTO - Sharon Bates wants to know how her six-year-old daughter went missing at the Grade 1 student’s Scarborough public school.

Bates said Monday that she told staff at Centennial Road Junior she would be a few minutes late picking up her daughter, Madison, on Sept. 17.

But when she showed up at the school — located in the Port Union Rd.-Hwy. 401 area — around 11:40 a.m., teachers had no clue where the little girl was.

Bates said a few panicked minutes later, she found her daughter at the back of the school, locked out of the building and crying in a corner.

“I immediately knew that nobody knew where she was,” Bates, 33, said Monday.
