TORONTO - Mayor Rob Ford has asked the city’s auditor general to investigate the expenses of the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games organizing team.
Ford told listeners of his weekly Sunday radio show that he was “livid” after reading Toronto Sun columnist Sue-Ann Levy’s story on expenditures by the top brass at Toronto 2015.
Ford confirmed he had sent an e-mail to Toronto Auditor-General Jeff Griffiths asking him to investigate the spending.
“It’s appalling,” he said during his Newstalk 1010 talkshow. “I know what I would do.”
The mayor urged his audience to buy Sunday’s edition of the Toronto Sun to read the exclusive details, describing the expenses as “shenanigans” and a “racket.”
“You will blow your cork,” Ford said before running down a list of the highlighted expenses.
“Until heads roll, (that’s) the only time people learn.”
