CALGARY - There’s still no sign of a pair of dog owners who made a getaway rather than caring for the little girl their animals took a chunk out of.

It’s disappointing, said the 10-year-old’s dad, Tom McLean, but it’s hard not to be happy with his daughter seemingly on the mend.

Jadeyn went in for plastic surgery Sunday to deal with wounds on her thigh.

“The doctor said they were able to sew it together without doing a skin graft … if it’s still bad, he can try to fix it up at a later date,” McLean said.

“Tuesday, they should both be home … my wife’s been staying with her at the hospital.”

McLean said the child’s mother hasn’t left her side at the hospital since Thursday night when the unexpected attack happened in a green space in the Hanson Ranch area of Calgary’s northwest.
